Good skate park for kids. Cricket, football, fishing, jogging and dog-walking are all popular here.

Good paths close to the lake and around the park. Plenty of bins and people walking dogs on leads. Pleasant place to walk in daylight hours.

Absolutely a beautiful park. Walked with a friend and we enjoyed our time very much. Lots animals here, very fun seeing them being comfortable in this nature. There's playgroud, skate park, ponds, and a cafe. So much to do.

There's a fishing 🎣 lake, a police station, that's closed to the public. A really cool abandoned hospital & children's orphanage. It's nice enough, also a place for the kids to play. It's fairly clean too.

The forgotten about poor relation in parks . It is sad to see how this park has such a low priority compared to the other parks . I lived in Beech court opposite Calderstones park and near Sefton Park, Smithdown Road Wavertree for many years and still visit the manicured favoured parks . it's a unfair case of TWO TIER counciling . I now live near Newsham and it's shockingly blatant how Newsham Park is neglected and ignored compared to the calderstones and sefton parks. I and all locals I speak to have nothing but sadness how this space has been put on a far less than adequate needed up keep. This park is used not only by locals but many many immigrants ,foreigners and local down and outs who have not learned the ways of using bins and now using the bushes for a toilet. Although with not a public toilet anywhere what can you expect. This is not a biggotry statement, just a truth. So as it is used by these types it needs more care, not less. The contractors in the flat bed vans who spend more time in their vans in-between emptying bins should be ashamed of themselves doing the absolute BARE minimum. Since the 2008 capital of culture overall the park has every year been getting less and less upkeep. We understand that cutbacks have been made but not when the cutbacks are not equal. Yes some railings have recently been slowly replaced and the many planted trees are now taking root and are now acting as a hide for unsavoury types. Many daytime bobbies on beat acting as visual deterrent is very prominent during the day when its not needed as much as after dark when a lot of young males who seemingly have nothing better to do than loiter after dark in unnatural places . I've said my piece and hope that this balance of care is shifted. I also invite anyone to attempt to disagree with any of my sad facts.
